ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Monday intensified the anti-profiteering drive and imposed fines amounting Rs. 28,570 on the profiteers for overcharging and not displaying the rate lists of food items.
Assistant Commissioner(Industrial Area) Islamabad, Imran Ali Sultan, Assistant Commissioner(Saddar) Omer Asad, Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Nouman Yousaf, Assistant Commissioner (Shalimar) Lubna Said and Assistant Commissioner (Rural) Maryam conducted price checking in the markets located in their areas and imposed a total of fines amounting Rs.28,570 on the profiteers.
They also took samples of food items, including Ghee, sweets, bakery items, milk from the shops and dispatched them to the laboratory for quality test.
Assistant Commissioner (City) Nouman Yousaf also attended 10 complaints in sasta bazaar, G-7 and provided on the spot relief to the citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed said that provision of relief to the people was the priority of administration and Sasta Ramadan Bazaars were set up to provide at quality food items at fixed rates.
He said magistrates had been ordered to keep strict watch on the prices in the markets and Sasta Bazaars.
