ISLAMABAD: The Capital police have recovered stolen items worth Rs. 123 million during current year after resolving 251 cases successfully, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

 

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan issued directives to heads of all police circles to accelerate efforts in tracing the theft as well as burglary cases and provide maximum relief to citizens by resolving their problems.

 

In compliance of these directions, heads of all police stations gave special directions to Investigation Officers of various cases to make renewed efforts. During this year, a total of 251 theft cases were resolved and hundreds of theft accused were arrested besides a total recovery of worth Rs. 123,366,000 from them.

 

City Zone police arrested 121 theft accused and 42 cases were resolved along with recovery worth Rs. 36,38,000. Similarly, Saddar Zone resolved 100 theft cases and arrested 170 thieves besides recovering stolen items worth Rs. 9, 30, 69,000 from them.

 

Likewise, Industrial area police successfully completed investigation on 43 cases and arrested 86 thieves besides recovering stolen items worth Rs. 1,54, 54,000 from them. Rural Zone Circle 66 cases and arrested 97 thieves along with recovery of 10,12, 5000 from them.
