KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Thursday if adequate gas is supplied to the utility it would not only be able to eliminate the loadshedding but also make available electricity at cheaper rates to the consumers.
According to KESC statement issued here today, in order to maintain a certain level of loadshedding in the metropolis the utility is forced to use 370 percent expensive fuel- furnace oil.
It said it was presently receiving only 200 MMCF gas per day against the actual allocation of 400 MMFC. This leads to increased use of furnace oil for power generation, it added.
