KARACHI: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik Tuesday said he has tendered resignation from Senate membership.

“I wanted to quit as advisor too but was stopped by Prime Minister,” he told media. “I resigned from Senate to express solidarity with the overseas Pakistanis, however, my offer to tender resignation as advisor on interior has been rejected'.

“Media can verify my resignation from Senate Chairman,” Malik said adding, “I told the Prime Minister that I want to tender resignation from adviser’s office but he advised me to continue.”

Malik told that he would act according to the leadership’s advice in future.

To a question, Rahman Malik said he tendered resignation to the Senate Chairman on Monday. “Now, nobody should suspect that Dual Citizenship is being presented just to benefit me.

He thanked MQM chief Altaf Hussain for supporting the dual nationality bill.

Malik told that he had applied to surrender his British citizenship in 2008 and also left his business on President Zardari’s advice.

It is pertinent to mention that the Supreme Court has already suspended Rehman Malik’s Senate membership for holding dual nationalities.

See how our leaders are sincere with Pakistan. Rehman Malik would prefer to quit the lucrative job of interior Mininster but would not quit his British nationality. These thugs have come here to loot the country and run away to their safe heaven when not in power.

Rehman Malik will not go. He will sit as an Adviser with the same salary, allowances and perks. His resignation is a ruse. He will contest Senate election and be seated there. U will see this tamasha soon.

Raymond Malik [Rehman Malik] is nobody's friend being everybody's friend. He has resigned from the already Supreme Court Suspended membership of the Pakistan Senate, primarily, precisely and plainly to escape the most obvious ramifications, repercussions and mandatory punishment for his cool and considered mis-declaration & mis-representation about his deceiving either countries [Pakistan and UK] - who believes or buys this notoriouscompulsive Liar, cheat and fraud.

I think this is because Zardari is trying to clean up his image for the elections.. Rehman Malik happens to be the most unpopular person in Pakistan!!! But don't hold your breath this man might stand in the election and the win a seat in the parliament!!!

I would request the brits. to cancel his nationality for cheating his native land. he can't be loyal and true to any piece of land. Rather I would like the developed and peaceful countries to cancel the shelter seeking dual nationalities of all such thieves.
