PESHAWAR: The recently held National Folk Music Festival, arranged by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation (KPTC), attracted visitors from cross section of society including women and children.
The last day of the festival was most enjoyable day of all as the weather was very warm with a scorching sun and the event started off
early in the morning with the folk dances of Sindh Gilgit Baltistan,
Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These dances were scheduled at an interval so incase if some visitors
missed it they could see it later.
The highlight of the event was the handicrafts stalls, which also included wax candles etc. The other stalls belonged to women entrepreneurs of KP, which were very attractively decorated and one could see always a flock of young ladies at these stalls buying and appreciating their designs.
A teenager dressed in a very trendy dress commented that she found these dresses along with the accessories to be very pretty and affordable by the masses.
The main attraction of the event was the food cuisines of not only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also of Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab and Balochistan. A long queue was at these stalls and at all times people were seen eating one thing after another at these stalls. Children were busy at the kids play area, which occupied them while their parents strolled around the venue visiting and buying stuff at the stalls.
Visitors from all age groups visited the venue, which was very beautifully decorated in Maroun and Gold. At nighttime with all the lights turned on the venue seemed like an enchanting outdoor bastion.
The Minister for Sports, Tourism, Museums, Archeology and Youth Affairs also attended the event and really praised the organizers for making good arrangements.
Music was the main source of enjoyment for the visitors and they danced to the traditional music along with pop music which included singers like Nazir ahmed , Khuzdari baloch, altaaf Kashmiri, anwar ali, zaakir mir Mughal Hazara, Gilgit Folk group, Krishen Gee, Alan Fakir Juniour, Ahmed Jilani, Yaqeen Band, Badnam Band, Fiza Fayaz and Fakhir.
