Judiciary must end double standard:Khosa

LAHORE: Punjab Governor, Sardar Latif Khosa Wednesday said that judges after taking residential plot submit affidavit otherwise, the judiciary would have to end the double standard, Geo News reported.

 

The judiciary overruling the Speaker’s ruling removed the prime minister, but disallowing the debate in parliament over judges’ acquiring plots.

 

Talking to media on the sidelines of International Business Conference here, Punjab Governor said that if the parliamentarian could be sent home, then why not those holy cows taking two plots on submission of false affidavits?

 

“If Arsalan in Monti Carlo loses 10,000 pounds in a night then is it also the conspiracy of People’s Party,” he enquired.

 

Punjab Governor said that Pakistan’s victory on Nato supply issue was also a victory for democracy. The decision for the resumption of Nato supply was not made for the money. Afghanistan was our neighbouring country and it could not be left alone in hard time, Khosa said.

If CJ Chaudhry had succombed to the pressure by Musharraf & his generals, Benazir, Zardari & Nawaz Sharif would still be in exile. How soon they forgot.

If only Zardari initially had agreed to restoration of judiciary.He was bent upon destroying supreme court to save his $ millions in foreign banks.If CJ Chaudhry had not taken stand against military dictator Musharraf,Benazir , Zardari & Nawaz Sharif were not coming back to Pakistan. He made it possible.

Yes, all influentials earned billions through corruption be considered above the law and ordinary person be put behind bars for five years for stealing sewerage cover. Thats the standard that khosa wants.

Mr Khusa, If Arsalan in Monti Carlo loses 10,000 pounds in a night and the money is his hard earned, then there is no problem. But if the money belongs to Malik Riaz then Arslan and Malik Riaz both be taken to task. Similarly if Zardari stashes 60 million dollars in Swiss Banks which is corruption money, Zardari must be taken to task. None of it is the conspiracy of People’s Party,”

The Punjab Governor's demand looks reasonable and needs attention. But how would he explain the loss of three most precious years in playing hide and seek with the Honourable Supreme Court instead of supporting it in its efforts to eliminate corruption from the country? And the level of corruption will also be weighed. Those involved in mega corruption deserve swift hanging or shooting, besides recovering the looted money from them.

Mr.Khosa, speak up when it should matter. Who is it that offers plots to the politicians, judges, journalists? refuse any such requests when they are submitted.You invite them to corruption and then start 'kiss and tell' or threaten them.Get your house and practices in order and stop throwing the government money to bribe the institutional and other functionaries.
