ISLAMABAD: Business tycoon Malik Riaz, accused of contempt of court, tendered an unconditional apology in his reply submitted to the Supreme Court Wednesday, Geo News reported.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Shakirullah Jan resumed hearing of the Malik Riaz contempt case today.

The reply was submitted in the Supreme Court on behalf of Riaz by his counsel Dr Basit. In his reply Malik Riaz said he did whatever he could during the movement for the restoration of the judiciary, adding that the aim of his press conference was not to criticise the chief justice.

Riaz further said in his reply that the press conference was aimed at exposing Arsalan Iftikhar and that he was sorry if it in anyway impeded in the process of dispensation of justice.

A separate plea was also submitted by Malik Riaz seeking that Dr Arsalan Iftikhar be summoned to the court.

Court should REMOVE the ban on Malik Riaz from appearing in public and speak out to the nation. If this not being allowed than there is definitely something which the courts don't want the public to know
