US airport officials let Sh Rashid go

HOUSTON, Texas: Immigration authorities, who had held Awami Muslim League chief, Shaikh Rashid, at the Houston airport , finally released him after five hours of interrogation, Geo News reported.

 

Shaikh was allowed to go after Pakistan’s Ambassador to US, Sherry Rehman, taking immediate notice of the ordeal the Awami Muslim League leader was coping with at the Houston airport, prompted the Pakistani consulate in Houston to help the veteran politician out.

 

Following the directives of Ambassador Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s Consul General in Houston, Aqil Nadeem reached the airport to talk to the immigration authorities.

 

Consul General Nadeem’s efforts paid and finally Shaikh Rahid was cleared to leave the airport after five hours of detention.

 

No details were available as to what made the US officials drag the leading Pakistani politician through such an arduous interrogation.

 

Notables from Pakistani expatriates living in Houston, including Tasleem Siddiqui, Khalid Khan, and others, gave Shaikh Rashid a hearty welcome when he came out of the airport.

US Immigration follow a standard procedure which is mandatory for every one.It does not make any difference if the person is a peon or ex minister and both go for the same check.I doubt it very much if the CONSUL GENERAL in HOUSTON was helpful in any way.

US immigration does the same to all south asians. They hate them simpley. They made AK Anthony and Bergaish Mishra Indian ministers remove their clothing. Sh Rashid is lucky.

One day they abuse and criticises American and the other day the go to US. What double standards of Pakistani politicians. If u hate some one, so clearly and loudly stand on ur step. SR deserve for that. I want that all Pakistani politicians should face the same action.

With only few exception, these Politicians, HAIF HAI UN SUB PER, when inside the country, to gain public favour “Americanon Ko Gali Detay Nahi Thak’Tay”, but see, every now & then, they visit America, why? Only to see, if their Dollars kept hidden in America are ‘Safe’? And secondly to get American AASHEERWAD. For lust of Power & to rule the country, our Politicians have surrendered, sold half of the country & talk of Sovereignty, Democracy. Shame on them thousand times !

Sh. Rasheed 'tully', when in Pakstan makes sure to make America, a target of his criticism. But for some reason he is in US. A 3rd rate politician, a loud mouth, crony of military dictator Musharraf,Pak ambassador should n't have intervened.I guess he is in Houstn at the invitation of some equally non significant group representing on the fringe political yoyos.
