LAHORE: Employees of SNGPL (Lahore region) observed pen down strike on Wednesday to condemn attack on the Company's senior supervisor by armed persons.
The employees assembled in front of the office and chanted slogans against the armed attack on Rashid Ahmed in which his son was grievously wounded.
The protesters flayed the police for not taking action against the attackers. They regretted that whenever they conducted raids to disconnect illegal connections they faced humiliation at the hands of gas pilferers. In some cases, they said, members of SNGPL special task force were attacked and injured.
They urged the police high ups to provide protection to the task force staff so that they could carry out official operations against illegal gas thieves without fear.
