PDA told to expedite work on Ring Road

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haidar Khan Hoti has directed the officials of Peshawar Development Authority to expedite pace of work on Northern Section of Ring Road in order to facilitate flow of traffic in the area.

 

He was chairing a meeting regarding construction of northern section from Pajjagi road to Warsak road of Peshawar Ring road at Chief Minister Secretariat on Tuesday.

 

Senior Minister for local government Bashier Ahmed Bilour, Secretary Local Government, Secretary C&W, D.G, PDA, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

 

The Chief Minister said that funds had already been allocated for work in the next financial year's ADP and there would be no problem in this regard.

 

He directed the concerned authorities to complete formalities including acquisition of land so that the project could be launched as early as possible.

 

He also discussed the design of a fly over and two U-Turns for right turning traffic of Charsadda Road intersection and directed that there should be no hurdle in the free flow of traffic on this point.

 

Earlier, the Chief Minister was informed that the length of the Northern Section of Ring Road from Pajjagi Road to Warsak Road is 3.5 km and the project would cost Rs 3756 million.

 

The road will consist of a dual carriage way, three lanes each, culverts and bridges in addition to an interchange at Pajjagi road intersection.

Is it possible for the CM to have constant follow up on such projects as only one meeting may not put officials concernd in motion to make quick progress on such projects for the benefit of the ordinary people.
