PM directive spurs water, power ministry

ISLAMABAD: The ministry of water and power has said that Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has started additional supply of furnace oil to power plants for generation of electricity, which would add 1200 MW to the system by Monday.

 

Water and power ministry spokesman said that with the availability of additional 1200 MW in the system, power production would go up to 13,500 MW.

 

The handout further said that 16 MMCFD gas has been provided to the Faisalabad gas thermal power station, which would increase electricity supply to the industrial city by 65 MW.
