MINGORA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif termed the verdict of the Supreme Court in the National Assembly Speaker’s ruling case as a success for his party.

“The government is now witnessing the result of its treatment towards the judiciary,”Nawaz said.

Addressing a large gathering here in Swat, he said that PML-N had been demanding that Yusuf Raza Gilani quit as prime minister following his conviction in the contempt of court case.

“He should have had gone home, but he brazenly refused to do so, which was a shame”, said Nawaz.

The PML-N president further added that he was the first person who had referred to Gilani as a convicted prime minister.

According to Sharif the people had not elected the current leadership to initiate a conflict with the Supreme Court and that “Zardari and Gilani had given the present of 20 hours loadshedding to the people.”

Nawaz added that if President Asif Ali Zardari had really served the masses he would have earned their support instead of condemnation.

He said that PML-N government was disqualified in 2009, but we held fast to our stance.

Targeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan, he said that those who were claiming to change Pakistan’s fate for the better in just 90 days were liars, adding hijackers of the youth had jumped into the arena.

Moreover, giving a broadside to Zardari government, he said that what could be expected from a government who usurped the money of pilgrims.
