FAISALABAD: A policeman was beaten and tortured by the crowd in Faisalabad when some policemen allegedly tried to kidnap a girl Wednesday, Geo News reported.
According to witnesses, three policemen stopped a rickshaw and kidnapped the passenger girl. However, one policeman named Aftab Ahmed was caught and tortured by the mob.
The policeman then took refuge in a shop while police force also reached the spot. As soon as the police brought the accused policeman out from shop, the crowd went wild once again and attacked him.
After intervening the scuffle, police sent injured Aftab to the hospital for first aid.
Police later told that the girl was not kidnapped by the policemen and she went willfully. However, action would be taken against the policemen after investigation.
