QUETTA: The lawmakers of the Balochistan Assembly on Monday session strongly condemned bomb attack on a bus carrying students
of a university which claimed five lives and injured over 60 others.
The assembly sitting held with Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani in chair about one hour late behind its schedule. Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was also present in the house.
Delivering his speech, Minister for Quality Education, Jan Ali Changezi said that he strongly condemned bomb attack on the university bus.
He said that now our students were being targeted in bomb attacks.
He said that all people of the provincial capital of Quetta have been feeling sense of insecurity.
He observed walk out of the house after saying that he observe walk out against the failure of police in providing security to citizens.
Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Buledi innocent citizens were being killed in bomb attacks. Minister for Law Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali said that house condemned the bomb attack. He was of the opinion that foreign hand was involved in bomb blasts in Quetta.
He demanded that public sector development program of financial year 2012-13 should give priority to districts of Eastern Balochistan.
Minister without Portfolio Nasreen Khaitran said that deteriorating law and order situation has been pushing us to civil war like situation. She demanded completion of ongoing development schemes timely.
Minister for Health Aainullah Shams said that perpetrators of bomb attack on the university bus could not be termed human. Minister for Agriculture Mir Asad Baloch said that he on behalf of his party Balochistan National Party-Awami strongly flayed the bomb attack on students.
Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Ruqayya Saeed Hashmi said that assailants have been target our next generation. She congratulated Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Balochistan for presenting a tax-free, balanced and without deficit budget. She, however, regretted that due to some negligence, ongoing development schemes could not be completed timely. Another Minister Agha Irfan Abdul Kareem viewed that the fiscal budget for 2012-13 would help in resolving energy crises being faced by province of Balochistan. Minister for Labor, Maulvi Ghulam Sarwar condemned bomb attack on niversity students.
Others who also strongly condemned the bomb attack on the university bus include Minister for Forest Abdul Samad Akhunzada, Minister Basant Lal Gulshan, Minister for Revenue Eng. Zamarak Piralizai, and Minister for Mines and Minerals Abdul Rehman Mengal.
Concluding the debate, Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd said that anti-state elements attacked the university bus. He strongly condemned the attack and said that suspects would be brought to justice. He said that huge funds have been allocated for welfare of minorities in the Balochistan Budget for fiscal year 2012-13. He said the provincial government is going to establish an office of Finance Department in Kharan district in new financial year.
He invited women lawmakers to submit their proposals regarding development schemes.
Meanwhile, the house approved formation of Finance Committee of the House. Speaker Balochistan Assembly Muhammad Aslam Bhootani will be chairman of the said committee while other members include the provincial ministers-Mir Asim Kurd, Syed Ahsan Shah, Mir Sadiq Umrani, Aainullah Shams, Eng, Zamarak Khan and Mir Shahnawaz Marri.
