ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday night chaired a meeting of leaders of coalition partners and discussed various issues, Geo News reported.
According to spokesman for the President, it was decided in the meeting that orders of the Supreme Court in Arsalan Iftikhar case would be complied with and that impartial investigation would be conducted against Malik Riaz and Arsalan Iftikhar.
Allegations about government’s involvement in the case were termed baseless, he said.
It was decided that supremacy of the parliament would be maintained as per the constitution, the spokesman added.
In the meeting, the ruling of Nationa Assembly Speaker in favor of the prime minister was lauded.
