President, PM chair allies meeting

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday night chaired a meeting of leaders of coalition partners and discussed various issues, Geo News reported.

 

According to spokesman for the President, it was decided in the meeting that orders of the Supreme Court in Arsalan Iftikhar case would be complied with and that impartial investigation would be conducted against Malik Riaz and Arsalan Iftikhar.

 

Allegations about government’s involvement in the case were termed baseless, he said.

 

It was decided that supremacy of the parliament would be maintained as per the constitution, the spokesman added.

 

In the meeting, the ruling of Nationa Assembly Speaker in favor of the prime minister was lauded.

Mr. Zardari is a very far-sighted person. Before he took the top office, he had it all worked out in his mind as to who would be best to be the PM and the Speaker. Nominating Yousuf Raza Gilani and Dr.Fehmida Mirza for the top slots eventually paid off. All in the name of Democracy. In other words,180 million inhabitants of Pakistan do not want to probe the graft cases against Zardari and also do not want the disqualification of the PM reference sent to the Election Commission. What a farce!

Zaedari and Galini have very poor memory. They meet daily and talk about flurshing democracy and its affect on the people. Today they were happy about lowering the gas rates on friday and closing the gas stations on satureday.
