ISLAMABAD: The two member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Jawaad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif wrapped up proceedings of the Arsalan Iftikhar suo moto case and issued its written order.

The Supreme Court has directed Attorney General Irfan Qadir to set the machinery of the State in motion so that all those who may have committed any illegal acts, including Malik Riaz, Dr Arsalan, Salman Ali Khan (Riaz’s son-in-law) are pursued and brought to book with the full force and rigour of the law.

However, the order clearly states that all three are entitled to the due process of law and are to be deemed innocent until proven guilty after a fair trial.

The 14-page order states that Malik Riaz tried to buy justice by offering bribes. ‘The one who gives bribes as well as the one who takes bribes are doomed to hell fire,’ the order said.

The order further said that Malik Riaz had accepted that despite spending more than Rs340 million he could not get relief. However the documents submitted by Riaz only provided details of Arsalan’s visits and not of monetary transfers.

1.Malik Riaz is a sacrificial animal for Zardari! He is being hyper but he is history. 2. If Supreme Court sentence people for 3seconds for ridiculing it then every Tom, Dick and Harry will do it. For example Malik Riaz and then today Attorney General was testing SC judges in court. 3. Punishment should be punishment. Lashes when we were kids were a deterrent. 50-100 lashes together with imprisonment is way to go here

Supreme court justices---uptil now you are all talk---. When you put this man in a hell hole, then you can talk about the begining of the rule of law.

As usual, another vague decision. As usual, the common man made the idiot movie viewer, who after spending his time and money, comes out of cinema praising a few and cursing a few, forgetting that it all was a drama prepared on his expense!

My appeal to general public and especially educated community is that we all must say big No to bribery. If you go to an office and you are asked to bribe, say straight no and stand firm in the name of Allah. your things might held a bit long for one or two times, but i tell you a well tried method.

"Law is not justice and a trial is not a scientific inquiry into truth. A trial is the resolution of a dispute". Law: the only game where the best players get to sit on the bench.Well Played !

Last 2 days had been very tense in my life and I just couldn't forget CJ that how he and the whole Judiciary have been victimised by Riaz DON.I think Riaz is a DON who says SC judges are in his pocket. Some of high fly Pakistani businessmen should learn a lesson from the businessmen in the neighbouring country that how patriotic they are.I have full support for CJ and Judiciary, yes 100% support.

The short order of the court seems fair. It is clear from the reports that Riaz Malik is a corrupt person and uses bribes to promote his business interests. It is to the credit of SC that the cases were not settled in his favour. Another noteworthy point gleaned from the reports is that the latest income tax return of Riaz Malik,SC received from Bureau of Revenue, was for 1996.
