ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Registrar Faqir Hussain said Tuesday that Malik Riaz had met with Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry during the days of latter's deposition.
Speaking to Geo News, Hussain said that two to three such meetings had taken place during which he too was present. The Chief Justice held no meetings with Malik Riaz after his restoration, he clarified.
The Supreme Court Registrar further said that Malik Riaz had proposed that the Chief Justice meet with President Asif Ali Zardari. Hussain said that the Chief Justice declined to meet President Zardari in regards to his restoration because it would be inappropriate.
The Supreme Court Registrar was responding to a question asked by Malik Riaz during a news conference in Islamabad.
Malik Riaz, in his first question had asked the Chief Justice to reveal how many times they had held meetings in the darkness of night and was Arsalan Iftikhar and the SC Registrar not present during these meetings.
