ISLAMABAD: A two-member Supreme Court (SC) bench comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain will take up the suo motu case regarding accusations of dubious transactions between the Chief justice’s son, Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhry, and business baron Malik Riaz Hussain, Geo News reported.
It is pertinent to mention that SC on Saturday had rejected a plea by Malik Riaz for the constitution of a larger bench.
Earlier on Sunday, Zahid Bukhari, the counsel of Malik Riaz, the Chairman of Bahria Town, said that his client was preparing to leave London for Pakistan shortly to testify before the Supreme Court in Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar's case.
Zahid Bukhari said Malik Riaz was ready to travel to Pakistan against his doctors’ advice who had warned him against it.
"He is returning to Pakistan in respect for the country's apex court," he said.
However, the sources close to Malik Riaz have said that the Bahria Town chief has already embarked on a journey back home.
