BHAKKAR: At least six people were killed and 12 others injured after a head-on collision between two buses on Mianwali-Muzzafar Garh Road near Bhakkar, Geo News reported.

The local residents who rushed to the site quickly started the rescue operation. Moreover, cops from the nearby police station, too, reached there and stopped the vehicles passing by to carry the dead and the injured to the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Jandawala.

Sources told Geo News that the unfortunate mishap came to pass when a Rawalpndi-bound bus, which started its journey form Karachi, rammed into a Bhakkar-bound bus coming from Islamabad.

There were three women, a minor girl, and two brothers among the six killed.

Human error was likely to be the foremost cause of the accident, police said
