Won’t allow govt for two months to present budget
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Thursday said they will not let the PML-N government present budget as it only has 45 days to go. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government would not be presenting next budget. “Forty five days are left in its term and PML-N government is bringing new budget,” Imran said.
He alleged Nawaz Sharif was not the name of an ideology but of mafia. He told journalists here after a meeting of the party’s central executive committee (CEC) that PTI lawmakers, who sold their votes during the Senate election, would be removed from the party.
About reports of horse trading by party MPAs in KP, Imran said the party was constituting a legal team over violation of its code of conduct during the Senate election.
He said that his party backs demand for a separate province in south Punjab adding the demand is a result of disempowerment of local governments.
“We brought the chairman Senate from Balochistan to strengthen the federation and are striving for Fata to get its rights with merger with KP,” he noted.
Imran claimed the people of Pakistan were happy with the recent decisions of the Supreme Court on key national matters. He praised the apex court’s decision on granting voting rights to overseas Pakistanis and condemned Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s statement regarding this development.
He alleged the previous caretaker government had failed to ensure free and fair elections in 2013. “Overseas Pakistanis are valuable assets of the country and their fundamental right to franchise should be acknowledged and granted without any further delay. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf hails Chief Justice of Pakistan’s efforts to grant voting rights to overseas Pakistanis,” the CEC of the PTI said in a resolution.
The party demanded an impartial caretaker government to ensure fair and transparent elections.
