ISLAMABAD: Some of the ministers from ruling coalition got into a fierce debate during the meeting of Federal Cabinet over the issue of electricity crisis that has worsened in the recent weeks across the country, Geo News reported Wednesday.

During the Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, some of the ministers expressed serious apprehension over the unscheduled loadshedding, asking how would they go to public for seeking votes if they failed resolve a basic issue like loadshedding.

Officials of Finance Ministry assured the meeting that the required funds would continue to be made available to the Ministry of Water and Power for improving the power supply situation.

"Government has undoubtedly made some accomplishments, but tell me how could we ask for vote without resolving the electricity issue," one of the ministers said.

The ministers urged the coalition leaders to get the power crisis issue addressed this year, keeping in view the next general elections.
