FIR on DI Khan grenade attack registered
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) here on Sunday registered the first information report (FIR) of the grenade attack against unidentified suspects.
The FIR was registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act. It may be recalled that at least 18 people, including two FC personnel, sustained injuries in a grenade attack on a local cultural fair in Sikandar Janobi area Dera Ismail Khan.
Reports said that unidentified men had lobbed a hand-grenade into the crowd of people at the local mela. Initially it was reported that the attack had left 18 people including two FC personnel injured, who were rushed to hospitals in Dera Ismail Khan.
Some of the injured were identified as Zakariya and Mansour (FC personnel) and others.A local politician Sardar Qaisar Khan Miankhel escaped unhurt in the attack. Soon after the blast, the security forces had cordoned off the area. Some unconfirmed reports had put the number of the injured at 24.
