KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IG), Karachi, Mushtaq Mehar, has announced reward money of Rs5 million for the person who give any information about the accused involved behind the attack on member of National AssemblyAbdul Rashid Godil in Bahadurabad. Addl IG Mehar said that, an incident of firing took place in the area of New Town police remit, when Rashid Godil MNA was travelling in his car. As a result, his driver Abdul Mateen succumbed to his injuries while Rashid Godil was critically injured.
Since the incident is of serious nature and it is expected that some hardened criminals are to be involved in this attack. It is therefore, he had requested the higher authorities to sanction reward money of Rs5 million to detect the firing incident and attack on MNA Rashid Godil to ensure early detection of case.
The higher authorities had accepted the proposal and sanctioned a reward of Rs5 million for the person who give information about the accused, moreover, the information shall also be shared to DIG East Munir Shaikh and DIG CIA Abdullah Shaikh.
Probing team senior member DIG Munir Shaikh talking to The News said that, they had registered an FIR of the incident on complaint of MNA Godil brother-in-law under Sections of murder (302), Attempt to Murder (324) and Section-7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
He added that, they had also recorded statement of the witnesses during which they had also met with a witness who had clearly viewed the whole scenario, later they took him to headquarter where they had showed him the footages who also confirm the suspects seen in the footages.
DIG Shaikh said that they had also held a meeting with the wife of MNA Rashid Godil who narrated that, she along with her husband was heading towards their Bahadurabad residence from DHA when they crosses a departmental store armed men riding on a motorcycle had opened random fire in moving position and fled.She further narrated that, they had no enmity with anyone and Godil had never discussed with them any threat to him. Further investigations are underway.
