Four MQM workers remanded to Rangers custody for 90 days

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday handed over four workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to Rangers custody on 90-day remand.

Four MQM workers, who were arrested from Korangi, were presented before the judge of ATC by the Rangers.

The Rangers Law Officer told the ATC that Mohammad Imran, Waseem Ahmed, Muhammad Ibrahim and Asghar Yaqoob were involved in grave crimes

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday handed over four workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to Rangers custody on 90-day remand.

Four MQM workers, who were arrested from Korangi, were presented before the judge of ATC by the Rangers.

The Rangers Law Officer told the ATC that Mohammad Imran, Waseem Ahmed, Muhammad Ibrahim and Asghar Yaqoob were involved in grave crimes including target killings, acts of extortion and possessing illegal weapons.

"One of the accused, Asghar Yaqoob, used to provide weapons for target killings", Rangers Law Officer told the ATC.

According to Rangers spokesman, one of the accused identified as Waseem Ahmed alias Shama is MQM's incharge of Korangi sector and was involved in target killing, extortion and land grabbing.

Meanwhile, a local court has given Pasban General Secretary, Usman Moazzam, to police custody on 10 days physical remand.

According to police, the Pasban leader was arrested over allegedly providing financial assistance to terrorists and having links with proscribed organization.

The case was registered against Moazzam on Friday before that he remained in Rangers' custody for 90 days.
