HYDERABAD: "There were two girls in the company of Umar Akmal and his companions when the police raided a house upon information of suspicious activities in Hyderabad", Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Baloch revealed on Friday.
He said that Umar Akmal, Azeem Ghumman and Irfan Malik who were in the company of two girls were taken to the police station. However, the SSP said the police witnessed no immoral activity when it entered the house.
"Umar Akmal had been presented tea when the police came to know that he is an international cricketer", he added.
It may be noted here that Umar Akmal had been dropped from the 16-member squad for the upcoming three matches of T20 series against England over disciplinary issues.
The middle-order batsman was also issued a show-cause notice for bringing PCB and Pakistan cricket into disrepute, said chief selector Haroon Rashid.
