Speaking to media, the interior minister said the statements of others were also being recorded.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has recorded his statement to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the Asghar Khan case, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Wednesday.
Speaking to media, the interior minister said the statements of others were also being recorded.
“The FIA is facing problems in recording the statements of some former army officials.”
He further said there was no other example of transparency and rule of law that a sitting prime minister on his own had recorded his statement.
The minister added that developments in the case are expected soon.
Air Marshal (r) Asghar Khan, the petitioner in the case, had alleged that the country’s premier intelligence agency, ISI, had distributed Rs140 million among politicians in the 1990 elections to form the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) and prevent Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Benazir Bhutto from winning the polls.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his statement before the FIA’s Anti Corruption Wing in the Asghar Khan case rejected the accusation of having taken any money from the ISI.
“Neither have I taken any money from anyone, nor did I receive any offer, and neither was I contacted by anyone.”
PM Nawaz in his statement also said that till this day no evidence has been found and neither has anyone presented any evidence regarding the accusation.
He added that just because his name was written in a diary that doesn’t mean anything.
The PM also pointed out that even Younis Habib, the former Mehran Bank president, had retracted his allegations regarding making any payment.
Nisar dismisses PTI’s accusations, endorses NADRA
Nisar also sent out a loud and clear message to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that the voter list for NA-122 was frozen August 26 onwards, hence there was no possibility of any changes after that.
The minister dismissed PTI’s accusations regarding transfer of votes from the NA-122 Lahore constituency and said that 25,929 votes were added to the NA-122 voter list up till August 26.
Nisar went on to say that the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) is time and again made a scapegoat and erroneously blamed to justify politically motivated actions.
“NADRA has no association to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), it is a national institution.”
The interior minister went on to say that NADRA is not authorised to make any amendments to votes on its own and any such permission can only be granted by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Censuring the PTI, Nisar said being defiant and confrontational on every single subject matter is not in national interest, adding that if political parties misbehave, hurling cursive words, then how can it be called democracy.
“I hope the PTI leadership will now onwards think before it speaks and understands that accepting defeat is also a big achievement.”
The minister further said that on the behest of PTI, the Judicial Commission (JC) was formed, the army was deployed in the constituencies where by-elections were being held, and CCTV cameras were also installed.
