Baldia Town factory owners record separate statements to JIT

DUBAI: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has recorded statements of the Baldia Town factory owners here on Tuesday. The owners recorded their statements separately at the Pakistani Consulate.

According to sources the initial statement of factory owners Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila in 17 pages.

The four-member investigation team, headed by DIG Muneer Sheikh and DIG Sultan Khawaja, had arrived in Dubai on Sunday to record the statements.

The owners had refused to visit Pakistan for the same as they had departed to London after the tragic incident of the factory fire – the worst in Pakistan’s history.

In 2012, over 280 people were killed when the garment factory was burnt down in the Baldia Town area of Karachi.
