K-Electric, others to be held accountable for overbilling: Sindh minister

KARACHI: Sindh Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday said that K-Electric, the power distribution company for Karachi, among other electricity companies in the province will be held accountable for overbilling their consumers.

KARACHI: Sindh Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday said that K-Electric, the power distribution company for Karachi, among other electricity companies in the province will be held accountable for overbilling their consumers.

Speaking to the media after attending a conference here, he said it was clear in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) report that excessive bills were issued to the masses.

Therefore, an explanation will be sought from different power distribution companies including the K-Electric, said Shah, adding that the companies will also be ordered to return the excessive amounts to the consumers.
