ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Wednesday said PTI Chairman Imran Khan had sabotaged the PM’s relief package for farmers for his own political gains.

The aim of announcing the Rs341 billion package for farmers by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was to keep the fields green and flourishing and bring prosperity in their homes by increasing growers income through better yields, said the minister in a statement issued here.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief would be held responsible for impoverished condition of farmers and growers who were already confronted by difficulties.

People of the country, Pervaiz Rashid said were witness that PM Nawaz Sharif always used best available resources to provide facilities to the public especially the low income group. Whereas, Imran Khan always do politics of turning the common man’s benefit into loss, he added.

The minister said opposing development plans from China Pakistan Economic Corridor to every single project was the whole politics of Imran Khan.

He said the farmers community now has the right to ask Imran Khan as to why they had been punished and deprived of the package worth billions of rupees.

Senator Rashid said that Nawaz Sharif provided best transport service in the form of Metro Bus project, established system of quality education by setting up Danish Schools and distributed laptops among
brilliant students.

“But, Imran Khan opposed all constructive initiatives just to play politics and that is why people did not give him vote in the general elections 2013,” he added.

Pervaiz Rashid said the public would reject the anti-people politics of Imran Khan and support the politics of Nawaz Sharif for development and prosperity.
