NEW YORK: Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry has said that Pakistan is concerned over situation in Afghanistan and it sincerely wants peace there.

Briefing the media along with Pakistan’s permanent envoy to United Nations Maleeha Lodhi, Aizaz Chaudhry said, “Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan sincerely, which will bring peace and stability to the entire region.”

Chaudhry said, problems in Afghanistan can be solved through negotiations, and not by blame game.

The foreign secretary went on to say that Pakistan government has been in contact with the Afghan leadership, adding that dialogue process with it will continue.

Commenting on reforms in United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Chaudhry said Pakistan is in favor of comprehensive reforms, but that process will not be accomplished by increasing the number of the permanent members.

There is unrest among the Kashmiris due to atrocities of the Indian forces, he said.
