KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has claimed that the authorities have seized 10,000 sacrificial hides collected by its volunteers in Karachi.

Speaking at a press conference, senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar said 35 vehicles including 10 trucks loaded with 10,000 sacrificial hides were diverted to another location instead of allowing them to reach the central camp set up by Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF).

“We have set up 26 collection points across the city, and we are fully cooperating with administration and law enforcement agencies. Despite following legal ways for transportation of sacrificial hides our trucks have been stopped and volunteers arrested ,” he said.

“All that happened despite the fact that we have national identity cards, administration’s permission to collect hides and KKF’s authority letter,” he added.

“We have got details of all the vehicles and are ready to share with administration,” Farooq Sattar said, adding that anybody including KKF workers should be arrested if found involved in forcefully collecting hides.
