Suspect involved in PAF Badaber attack arrested in Charsadda

PESHAWAR: Intelligence agencies conducted an operation in Charsdadda and arrested a suspect involved in the attack on the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base camp in Badaber.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Bakhtiar.

PESHAWAR: Intelligence agencies conducted an operation in Charsdadda and arrested a suspect involved in the attack on the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base camp in Badaber.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Bakhtiar.

On Sunday, authorities identified five terrorists killed in the attack on the PAF base in Badaber near Peshawar in which 29 people, including worshipers offering prayers at a mosque inside the residential compound, were martyred.

14 terrorists had been killed after security forces launched an operation to repulse the attack.

Sources in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) told Geo News that, of the five terrorists who had been identified, four belonged to Khyber tribal agency while one belonged to the Swat valley.

According to details provided by the CTD sources, the identified attackers included 27-year-old Ibrahim, 19-year-old Adnan, 21-year-old Siraj Uddin and 20-year-old Rab Nawaz from Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency. A fifth attacker was identified as Mohammad Ishaq, 27, from Swat.

Announcing a Rs1 million for anyone providing information about the terrorists, political agent Shahab Ali Shah confirmed that four attackers belonged to Khyber agency.

The identities of the remaining nine attackers are yet to be ascertained.
