ISLAMABAD: Former Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday and exchanged views on the prevailing political situation in the country.

During his conversation with PM Nawaz, Sadiq said he would move the Supreme Court to clear allegations leveled against him. However, he said that he does not intend to approach the apex court to get a stay-order on the NA-122 by-elections.

The former speaker was optimistic for the trust that people have reposed in him, saying that he is confident he would win the by-polls by a huge margin.

"There is no room for politics of protests in the country. Politics of accusations will be buried forever under the votes of masses," said the prime minister.

PM Nawaz said that his party was victorious in the people's court in 2013 and would triumph again in the by-elections.
