KARACHI: An anti-corruption court in Karachi issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader Makhdoom Amin Faheem on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the multi-million-rupee Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) corruption scandal.

The senior PPP leaders are accused of being involved in approving and disbursing fraudulent trade subsidies of millions of rupees to several fake companies through fictitious claims and backdated cheques.

During the hearing of the case today, FIA investigation officers presented charge-sheets against Gilani, Fahim and others in 12 news cases linked to the TDAP corruption scandal. The challan presented in court termed the two senior politicians as absconders.

Accepting the charge-sheet, federal anti-corruption court judge Mohammad Azeem ordered authorities to arrest the accused and present them in court by September 10.
