PML-N decides not to move SC against ET verdicts, to go for by-polls

ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has decided not to move the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the verdicts of Election Tribunals and go for by-election.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be convening a meeting of N-league’s central leaders to review the situation emerging after the decisions of the Election Tribunals that have declared the election of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, National Assembly speaker, null and void and disqualified another MNA Siddique Baloch on the petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The appeals filed in court will be withdrawn and no new appeals will be filed.

Sources said the PML-N is mulling to keep the post of National Assembly Speaker vacant till the by-elections in NA-122 constituency is held.

The PM who has landed back in Islamabad from his visit to Kazakhstan, will chair the meeting tonight.
