RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif chaired the Corps Commanders conference here at the General Headquarters on Tuesday.

According to the ISPR during the meeting internal and external security situation of the country was discussed while progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Intelligence Based Operations were reviewed.

COAS expressed complete satisfaction over noticeable changes in the overall security situation in the country.

The forum reviewed the state of readiness and vigil being maintained by troops along Line of Control (LoC). “We are fully prepared to respond to entire spectrum of threat,” COAS said.

Referring to ongoing peace talks between Afghan Government and Afghan Taliban, COAS said, it is the only credible way to achieve lasting peace. “Detractors and spoilers are against peace and prosperity of Afghanistan and the region.”
