ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan Sunday dispelled the impression that his party staged protest sit-ins on the instruction of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

“PTI’s Central Executive Committee had made the decision to stage sit-ins,” Imran Khan said while addressing the PTI’s National Council here, adding, he had never made a decision without first taking the party’s opinion.

Imran Khan said it is impossible for a man not to err and that a successful person always learns from his mistakes.

He said PTI is the only party that all other parties are scared of.

Khan said all other parties contested the local bodies’ elections against the PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the latter still managed to emerge victorious.

Commenting on his political struggle, Khan said: “As a Pakistani I used to think what it is that I should do to best serve my country. So, I decided to come into politics”.

He said first he had had meetings with political leaders of the country but in the end he decided to form his own party.

He said, unfortunately, such a political culture was created in the country where it became a norm that if you want to make money you would join politics.

He further said that in 1997 Khursheed Kasuri came up to him with ‘Nawaz Sharif’s message’, offering him 30 seats, but he turned down the offer.

Khan went on to say that he was friends with Benazir Bhuttto but decided not to join her party ‘due to corruption’.

He also said that the secret to success is to know whose advice you should take.
