Ch Nisar directs FIA to expedite probe into mega corruption cases

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan Wednesday directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to expedite the investigation of mega corruption cases without any fear.

Chairing a high level meeting, he said the investigation of mega corruption cases should be completed within weeks so that challans could be submitted in relevant court of laws, according to a press release issued here.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan Wednesday directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to expedite the investigation of mega corruption cases without any fear.

Chairing a high level meeting, he said the investigation of mega corruption cases should be completed within weeks so that challans could be submitted in relevant court of laws, according to a press release issued here.

He said mega corruption cases would be brought to their logical conclusion and justice would be done in each case regardless of any duress from any quarter.

The meeting reviewed progress in mega corruption cases including (EOBI) Employees Old Age Benefit Institution, Trade Development Authority, Evacuee Trust Property Board, New Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Pakistan State Oil and Hajj Scheme Scandals.

He observed that past governments have looted the national exchequer with immunity.

The meeting also decided to announce policy for International Non Governmental Organizations (IGNOs) after Eid ul Fitr.

The meeting was also attended by Officials of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), police, DG FIA, Chairman NADRA, senior officials of Interior Ministry and FIA.

He directed NADRA and Passport department to fine tune online system of CNIC and Passports so that people could be saved from standing in long queues and waits.

Nisar directed Director General Passport to ensure home delivery of newly issued Passports from next month to facilitate people.
