KARACHI: Visibly perturbed by the defection of senior Pakistan People’s Party leaders, especially Pir Samsam Bukhari, former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said it was not appropriate to leave the party instead of mobilizing it.

Speaking at Geo News show Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, he said PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has chaired a meeting over the situation and decided to visit Punjab.

“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will visit every constituency of Punjab,” he said, adding party matters were discussed in detail during the meeting chaired by the PPP chairman at the Bilawal House.

“I am dismayed over Samsam Bukhari’s leaving of PPP, why did he fail to see flaws two years ago as it was the same party at that time too,” he told Geo News.

“It’s not appropriate to leave party instead of mobilizing it,” the former prime minister and senior PPP leader added.

On Wednesday, Pir Samsam Bukhari, Ashraf Sohna and few other PPP leaders from Punjab announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf after their meeting with the former cricket hero Imran Khan at his residence in Islamabad.
