ISLAMABAD: Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia and is committed to the defense of the holy sites located in the Islamic Kingdom, President Mamnoon Hussain assured visiting Imam-e-Kaaba Shaikh Khalid al-Ghamidi on Monday.

There should be no doubt that Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia, said Hussain as he met the Imam-e-Kaaba at the Presidency in Islamabad today.

Pakistan is committed to the defense of Harmain Sharifain, the president told the Imam-e-Kaaba.
The president said that the presence of a large number of Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia acts as a bridge between the two nations.

The Imam-e-Kaaba replied by saying that there can be no fissures Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties, as both countries enjoy a warm relationship with each other built upon strong foundations.

The Imam said he was convinced that Pakistan would not back down if bad times fall on Saudi Arabia.

Later, the Imam-e-Kaaba led Zuhr prayers at the mosque located inside the presidency.

The Imam-e-Kaaba, who arrived on a week-long visit to Pakistan last Thursday, will lead Friday prayers at the Faisal Mosque in the federal capital later this week.

The Imam earlier spent for four days in Lahore and will now stay in Islamabad for the next three days, holding meetings with Pakistani officials, dignitaries and religious scholars to help improve relations between the two countries.
