ISLAMABAD: There was an interesting exchange between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over the reason Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit had been earlier postponed.

Geo News special correspondent Arshad Waheed Chaudhry was informed by sources that when the Chinese president went to meet parliamentarians during the joint-session, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif followed him.

Just prior to the PTI chairman Imran Khan stepping forward to shake the Chinese president’s hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif remarked that he (Khan) should inform the Chinese president that his earlier visit was postponed due to the PTI sit-in.

Imran Khan replied to Prime Minister Sharif that the Chinese president’s visit had not been delayed due to the sit-in and had this been the case President Xi Jinping would have visited Pakistan four months earlier when the sit-in had ended.
