Chinese President Xi Jinping to arrive tomorrow, will address joint session of parliament on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD: All preparations have been completed for Chinese President Xi Jinping's two-day state visit to Pakistan beginning tomorrow (Monday).

This will be the Chinese President's first foreign visit this year.

President Xi Jinping will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and hold official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The two countries will sign a number of important agreements and MoUs relating to key development

ISLAMABAD: All preparations have been completed for Chinese President Xi Jinping's two-day state visit to Pakistan beginning tomorrow (Monday).

This will be the Chinese President's first foreign visit this year.

President Xi Jinping will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and hold official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The two countries will sign a number of important agreements and MoUs relating to key development projects in the infrastructure, energy, and communication sectors.

President Xi will also address the Joint Session of Parliament in Islamabad on Tuesday. He will be conferred upon the highest civil award Nishan-e-Pakistan.

The nation is enthusiastically looking forward to Chinese President’s visit which will open new vistas of bilateral cooperation.

A red-carpet welcome will be accorded to the great Chinese leader who has chosen Pakistan his destination for his first foreign trip this year.

Main roads in the capital, particularly the Constitution Avenue, have been decorated with lights and flags of Pakistan and China.

Portraits of the honorable guest and the Pakistani president and the prime minister have been placed on the roads to depict the all-weather Pakistan-China friendship.

A fleet of eight JF-17 Thunder jets will receive the president of People's Republic of China as his plane enters the Pakistani airspace and escort him to Islamabad airport.

A 21-gun salute will also be presented to the honourable guest at the airport.

Xi Jinping's message to Pakistan

In a message before leaving for Islamabad, the Chinese President has said that similar to Pakistani people, the people of China also consider Pakistan to be a true and faithful friend.

He added that the friendship between the two countries has become like a strong tree.
