Sindh raises police salary to match Punjab

KARACHI: Much to the delight of policemen in Sindh, the provincial government on Thursday paid them the first tranche of recently increased salaries and allowances to bring them on a par with those of Punjab’s policemen.

In a statement issued by Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, the policemen have been disbursed with their increased salaries ranging from Rs2,000 to Rs7,000.

He said that the new pay scale now matches with that of policemen in Punjab.

According to details available with Geo News, salaries of constables have been increased by Rs2,000 to Rs5,000 and head-constables by Rs4,000 to Rs6,000. Sub-Inspector and Inspectors ranked officers are entitled for a salary hike of Rs5,000 to Rs7,000.

The current pay raises have been conditioned upon the seniority of the police personnel.
