SANA: A caravan of hundreds of Pakistanis trapped in Sana has resumed its journey for Hadida city after being stopped at a check post.

A Pakistani citizen who is part of the above caravan said they were stopped at a security post on their way to Hadida but after checking and successful talks with the forces they were allowed to move past the check post towards the place of safety.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the national flag carrier, has put on standby two of its planes to bring the stranded Pakistanis back from the war-stricken Yemen on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The operation Determination Storm being carried out by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen against the Houthi rebels began in the capital city Sana and later spread to other parts of the country.

As a result, the Pakistanis living in Sana and Aden got trapped following air strikes by the allied forces and the resistance being put up by rebels through use of anti-aircraft cannons.

According to details the Pakistani planes will reach Hadida by Sunday morning and, in the first trip, bring back the citizens coming from Sana and Aden.

The stranded Pakistani citizens talked to Geo News and appealed to Islamabad to expedite steps to ensure their safe return to their homeland.
