ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Friday that a leaked telephone conversation between Imran Khan and Arif Alvi had shown the true intention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) four month long sit-in held in the federal capital last year.

In a statement, Rashid said the recording had proven that the sit-in was a conspiracy against the democratically elected government. Rashid added that the recording had validated Javed Hashmi’s allegations.

According to the information minister the PTI wanted to come into power from the back-door. Rashid also called for action to be taken for using inappropriate language against the prime minister.

Earlier, a private conversation between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Dr Arif Alvi discussing the attack on PTV was leaked on social media.

During the conversation Arif Alvi informs Imran Khan about the PTV attack and the shutting down of transmission. Imran Khan responds: “That is good, they deserve it.”

“It is all a question of forcing Nawaz to resign,” Imran tells Alvi, adding that there needs to be pressure on Nawaz to resign before the joint session.
