SHC fines PTI chief Rs50,000 over MQM defamation suit

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) fined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan Rs50,000 on Monday for not appearing before the court in the case regarding Rs5 billion defamation suit filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

In 2013, MQM’s Farooq Sattar had filed the suit against Khan at the SHC for issuing statements against MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) fined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan Rs50,000 on Monday for not appearing before the court in the case regarding Rs5 billion defamation suit filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

In 2013, MQM’s Farooq Sattar had filed the suit against Khan at the SHC for issuing statements against MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Khan had alleged that Hussain was responsible for the killing of PTI Sindh senior vice-president Zahra Shahid.
