KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information, Sharjeel Inam Memon Tuesday said all necessary steps have been taken to lay off employees from the local bodies of Sindh province.

“Those employees who don’t even bother to show up for work and enjoy full salaries by sitting at home will not be spared this time,” Sharjeel Memon said while addressing the lawmakers from the floor of Sindh Assembly.

He said a mechanism to ensure transparency is being put in place under which fresh bank accounts for employees’ salaries will be opened. Their attendance will also be marked through a biometric system, he added.

Meanwhile, the Information Minister issued orders to the concerned authority to immediately remove flags and banners of political and religious parties from all parts of the city.

He also instructed the political parties, private and welfare companies to remove their promotional graffiti within 24 hours.
