Grenade attack near school in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area

KARACHI: Unknown armed motorcyclists hurled hand grenades early Tuesday near a private school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, however, no injuries were reported as students were not present at the school.

Police arrived at the site of the blast immediately and gathered evidence. According to sources, the attackers also left a hand written warning note at the site of the blast.

KARACHI: Unknown armed motorcyclists hurled hand grenades early Tuesday near a private school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, however, no injuries were reported as students were not present at the school.

Police arrived at the site of the blast immediately and gathered evidence. According to sources, the attackers also left a hand written warning note at the site of the blast.

According to police, two assailants on a motorbike hurled the grenades and escaped from the scene.

DIG-East Munir Sheikh stated that no school was directly targeted and it was a coincidence that the grenades landed close to the school.

Director General Rangers Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar also visited the blast site.

Provincial Education Minister Nisar Khuhro took notice of the blast and sought a report from Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi police.

Meanwhile, blasts were reported near Habib Bank Chowrangi in Karachi’s SITE area as well, however there were no injuries.
