KARACHI: While the high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was taking place at Governor House on Friday, the parents of slain assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Arshad Tanoli stood outside to appeal to the PM for justice.

The parents demanded justice from the Sindh government and police, asking why their son who served the nation for 19 years, was murdered in November last year and who would provide support to the displaced children of Tanoli.

Similarly, another woman who belonged to Lyari, reached outside to demand justice with regards to four of her slain family members including her husband, father and brother.

She protested that with the continued unrest in Karachi, besides citizens several police officials have also been killed. She further said that even with the targeted operation, it seemed there is no end to the bloodshed and no one to challenge the killers.

Inside the Governor House, the PM chaired a high-level meeting and directed the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the killing of three workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and bring the culprits to justice. He further said that his visit to Karachi was aimed at discussing ways and means to restore peace in the city and mentioned that the Karachi operation was showing good results.

The Prime Minister who earlier met the families of the slain workers Sohail Ahmed, Faraz Alam and Rehan at the Governor House expressed deep grief over their death.
