Appeal of Salman taseer’s murderer to be heard in IHC today

ISLAMABAD: Sentenced to death in Punjab governor Salman Taseer’s murder case, Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal against the decision will be heard in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday.

Court administration has instructed the district administration for strict security measures.

ISLAMABAD: Sentenced to death in Punjab governor Salman Taseer’s murder case, Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal against the decision will be heard in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday.

Court administration has instructed the district administration for strict security measures.

Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal against the death sentence in a murder case will be heard by IHC’s Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Mumtaz Qadri murdered Salman Taseer on 4th January 2011 in Islamabad’s Kohsar Market. On 1st October 2011 he was sentenced to death by an anti terrorist court after proven guilty.

IHC had given a stay order on the death sentence after Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal on 11th October 2011 which will now be heard after three years and three months.
